Shots & Visitors

After I was born, the nurses quickly cleaned me up and determined that I was healthy.  They swaddled me into a baby burrito and handed me to Daddy, who got to hold me up to Mommy for the first time.  I got to hang out there until the doctors were all done with Mommy's surgery.  I was happy and content and so was Mommy.  She was very worried she wouldn't get this time with me since she was having a c-section but it all worked out!

Mommy and I were wheeled back to a recovering room in which she got to hold me for the first time and we were skin to skin.  I loved that!  It made me feel warm and safe, just like I was in Mommy's tummy.

I also got to try eating for the first time.  I wasn't quite sure but managed to latch on for a minute or so.  Then about 30 minutes later, Mommy & I were taken to our room.  Grandma Ginger showed up just in time to come meet me in there.  She was very excited too!

After that, the nurses took me away to get all my shots, a bath, and more detailed examination.  Daddy and grandma went and watched me through the glass of the nursery.  Daddy said I stayed pretty calm.  I didn't even cry after the first shot.  After the 2nd, I let out 3 little whales and then fell asleep.  It was a pretty rough day for me after all!

After all that, I got to go back to the room with Mommy & Daddy.

Later in the day, I had a couple more visitors:  Aunt Allie and Grandma Barbie!  They were also super excited to meet me!  I am a very popular little dude!

I spent most of the rest of the day snuggling with Mommy!  We also practiced nursing some more and Mommy says I am a pro already!
